This page sets out the editorial standards and practices of Urban Scope News. We are an independent digital news publication committed to accuracy, fairness, transparency, and editorial independence.
Our Editorial Standards
Accuracy
We take care to verify facts, statistics, and claims before publication. We use primary sources wherever possible (official reports, government data, on-the-record interviews) and clearly attribute information to its source. Where information is based on a single source, we say so.
Fairness and Balance
When covering contested issues, we seek to present relevant perspectives fairly. We do not deliberately misrepresent the views of individuals or organisations.
Clarity Between News and Opinion
We clearly distinguish between factual reporting and opinion/commentary. Opinion articles and columns are labelled as such. The views expressed in opinion pieces are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of Urban Scope News.
Transparency
We are transparent about who produces our content. All articles carry the author’s name and the date of publication. We do not publish anonymous content except in circumstances where source protection is necessary and that fact is disclosed.
Independence
Our editorial content is produced independently of advertisers, sponsors, and commercial partners. Commercial relationships do not influence our editorial decisions. Sponsored or paid content is always clearly labelled and distinguishable from editorial content.
AI-Assisted Content
Where artificial intelligence tools are used to assist in research, drafting, or editing, this is disclosed. All AI-assisted content is reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a human editor before publication.
Sources and Attribution
- We name our sources wherever possible and appropriate
- Where sources are quoted anonymously, we explain why
- We do not fabricate quotes or misattribute statements
- Data and statistics are linked or attributed to their original source
Guest Posts and Contributor Content
We occasionally publish content from external contributors. All contributed content is reviewed for accuracy and compliance with this Editorial Policy before publication. Contributors are identified clearly. We do not publish undisclosed paid content.
Sponsored and Advertorial Content
Sponsored articles, paid partnerships, and advertorial content are clearly labelled with a prominent disclosure (“Sponsored”, “Advertorial”, or “Paid Partnership”) at the top of the article. Such content does not reflect the editorial opinions of Urban Scope News.
Corrections and Clarifications
We take errors seriously. If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and transparently.
Minor corrections (e.g. spelling of a name, typographical errors) are corrected without a specific notice.
Significant corrections (e.g. factual inaccuracies that affect the meaning of an article) are corrected with a clearly visible correction note added to the article, stating what was corrected and when.
Example correction note:
Correction (14 July 2026): This article originally stated that the new development would include 450 homes. The correct figure is 540 homes. We have updated the text accordingly.
We do not silently delete or rewrite articles to change their meaning. If an article is substantially revised after publication, a note is added to reflect this.
How to Request a Correction
If you believe an article on Urban Scope News contains a factual inaccuracy or you have been misrepresented, please contact us:

- A description of the inaccuracy
- Evidence or sources supporting your correction request
We aim to acknowledge correction requests within 2 working days and resolve them within 5 working days.
Complaints Process
If you have a complaint about any content on Urban Scope News:
- Contact us at admin@urbanscopenews.co.uk with full details of your complaint
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days
- We aim to investigate and respond fully within 10 working days
- If you remain dissatisfied with our response, you may escalate your complaint to an appropriate legal or regulatory body
Urban Scope News is an independent publication and is not currently a regulated member of IPSO or IMPRESS. We operate our own editorial standards and complaints process as set out on this page.
Right of Reply
Where an article makes serious allegations about an individual or organisation, we will offer a right of reply before publication wherever practicable.
Privacy in Reporting
We respect individuals’ right to privacy. We do not publish private information about individuals unless there is a clear public interest justification.
